Calvaire Du Morne Des Esses

The parish council of Morne des Esses was created on 31 December 1943, with René Labinsky at its head. It was under his presidency between 1945 and 1946 that the Calvaire Way of the Cross was instituted. A four-metre cross was erected at a place called Spourtoune. It disappeared eight years later. The Way of the Cross and a painting were created by Father Arostéguy, the parish priest of Morne des Esses.
