A renewed tradition

Since its creation in 1993, the Transat Jacques Vabre has established itself as an essential reference in the world of ocean racing. This transatlantic race, linking Le Havre in France to a finishing port in America, has always been synonymous with adventure, challenge and a passion for sailing. In 2025, this prestigious race changes its name to the Transat Café L'Or, marking the beginning of a new era while retaining the heritage and spirit that have made it famous.

A dream destination: Martinique

For the 3rd consecutive edition, the skippers will set sail for the magnificent island of Martinique. Nestled in the heart of the Caribbean, Martinique is a land of coffee and offers an idyllic setting with its fine sandy beaches, turquoise waters and rich Creole culture. This choice of destination reinforces the appeal of the race and promises a spectacular finish in the bay of Fort-de-France, ranked among the most beautiful bays in the world, where locals and tourists alike will be able to welcome the sailors in a warm, festive atmosphere.

New momentum with Café L'Or

The change of name to Transat Café L'Or is accompanied by the arrival of the leading brand of the JDE Peet's group, title partner: the L'Or coffee brand. This enhancement breathes new life into the race, with renewed ambitions and increased resources to guarantee an even more grandiose event. L'Or, known for its commitment to excellence and quality, shares the values at the heart of the Transat.

The challenges of publishing 2025

As with every edition, the Transat Café L'Or 2025 promises its share of challenges for skippers. The North Atlantic crossing is renowned for its  varied weather conditions, especially in November, ranging from flat calms to fearsome storms. Crews will need to demonstrate strategy, skill and resilience to navigate the 4,350 nautical miles to Martinique. The race will take place in different categories, including Class40s, Multi50s and IMOCAs, offering a diversity of boats and talent on the starting line.

A commitment to the environment

The Transat Café L'Or 2025 is also part of an eco-responsible approach. Aware of environmental issues, the race organization is implementing actions to minimize its ecological impact. Initiatives such as the reduction of single-use plastics, the promotion of renewable energies and support for ocean protection projects will be at the heart of the event. This ecological component is perfectly in line with the values of L'Or, which is actively committed to sustainable, environmentally-friendly practices.

The Transat Café L'Or marks a significant turning point in the history of this legendary transatlantic race. With a new identity, a prestigious partner and a dream destination in Martinique, this edition promises to be exceptional. Sailing enthusiasts and lovers of great challenges can look forward to a breathtaking spectacle, rich in emotion and maritime exploits. See you in October 2025 for the start of this unique adventure, where tradition and innovation will meet to write a new chapter in the history of ocean racing.
