The north of the island, bordered by the Caribbean Sea to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east, is the most natural, undeveloped and wild part of our island. Less developed in terms of tourism than the south, this part of the island has fewer hotels. It is paradise for those seeking a stay surrounded by nature, near hiking trails and stunning beaches of ebony sand. What a dream!

So, if you seek adventure and interesting encounters, head to the north of the island where you can attempt the ascent of Mount Pelée and tread the dramatic volcanic sands of Anse Céron or Anse Couleuvre.

The more typically idyllic and busier south has incredible fine white sand beaches, all sorts of watersports like snorkeling and numerous hotels and accommodation options of all kinds.

You will find a wider choice of hotels, restaurants and things to do in the larger towns and more popular tourist areas.

After location, the facilities on offer will be your next criteria when choosing a hotel to ensure you an unforgettable stay. It’s those little extras that will make your dream vacation really come true!

Do you like boutique hotels, all-inclusive hotels, or family-run hotel-restaurants? Always dreamed of a hotel right on the beach?

Or perhaps a poolside vacation is the must for you? Some hotels provide car hire services or have fantastic restaurants serving gourmet or traditional fare. Some might also offer airport transfers or, if you are lucky, have a wellness area and spa.

In Martinique, facilities vary greatly depending on the range of hotel and new services are added every year. There are currently six four-star hotels and one five-star hotel on the island with new concepts constantly appearing, including family-friendly accommodation or hotels aimed at itinerant travelers and quirky or boutique hotels.

When it comes to prices in Martinique, small family-run hotels will cost you €60 to €120 per night whilst you can expect to pay €150 to €250 per night at a premium hotel. Aparthotels cost €300 to €500 per week for a studio or €400 to €800 per week for a one-bedroom apartment.

If you dream of combining both lazing on the beach and exploring while in Martinique, you can hop around the island from one hotel to another. You’ll never be disappointed.
